Katelin’s big day
My daughter is the worlds foremost 13 year old authority on Orcas.
This weekend she got to spend a day at Seaworld and participate in the “Trainer for a day” program. Its something that she literally has planned to do since she was 7 years old. (13 is the lowest age allowed). So she was able to spend an entire day behind the scenes at Seaworld and feed / play with he Dolphins. She even got a ride around the pool by one. What a thrill. To top it all off, after she got back into her warm sweats (the water was a nippy 50 degrees) she got to play with Kalia, the 2 year old baby Orca. If you ask her, I imagine she might say one of the best parts was a parent asking her if she worked for the park. Seriously. She held that orca’s attention for a good 5 minutes, playing with keys, towels and shirts. One of the cutest moments was her playing peekaboo and hiding the towel. She would turn her back to Kalia and the wale would literally try to sneak a peek around the corner to see what happened with the toy. What a great day !
