Worlds Oldest .NET Programmer Discovered
DocToHelp, in its recent print ads running in Visual Studio Magazine, has taken the courageous and laudable step to include an image of Winslow T. Carstensen, the oldest known .NET programmer in the world.
“Speedy T.” as Mr. Carstensen is known to friends on the ASP Forums has graciously agreed to take part in this promotional campaign in an effort to curb the rampant practice of age discrimination in our industry. Carstensen was quoted as saying ” Its about time someone took a stand. Just because I am not 20 years old, from India or China, and work 12 hour days for $2.00 doesn’t mean that I cannot make a very valuable contribution to any employer. Heck, guys like me… we used to make our own ones and zeros to program. Experience trumps youth every time. Unless you are one of those RoR groupies…. in that case there is no help for you. ”
So there you have it. If Speedy T is still around there may yet be some hope for the over 40 crowd in our industry ( that means guys like myself…)
