HTNG Certification
I just got word that NxTV, my customer in Woodland Hills, received its HTNG certification. That’s fantastic news because the entire service and certification test structure was built in quite fast. Considering all that goes into the Single Guest Itinerary piece of HTNG, I am very happy what we were able to accomplish with a hard deadline looming in front of us. Granted, we went for the smallest role available under the standard, that of Itinerary Display Service (IDS), but nonetheless this is quite wonderful news. I briefly blogged about the experience of coding against HTNG over here. Congratulations NxTV !

This is great feedback. HTNG’s workgroup members spent a tons of volunteer time to create this specification, and indeed NXTV should be congratulated as the FIRST company to certify against this new specification, other than companies directly involved in its creation (who had a bit of a leg up).
I should point out that the documentation on “how to implement” this spec (as opposed to the spec itself) is pretty limited right now, which makes this achievement even more notable. And talk about “just in time”, NXTV’s certification came exactly 7 minutes before the start of the industry’s major annual trade show. Congratulations to all involved!
